The short version
We do not sell your data. Ever. Really. We only ask for the minimum needed to handle adoptions and volunteering, and we never share anything with third parties for commercial purposes.
What we collect
Our forms collect your name, phone number, email and message. The site uses no tracking cookies and no advertising profiles.
Website statistics
We use GoatCounter to count visits, referral sources, clicks and submitted enquiries. Aggregated data includes approximate country, browser, operating system, language and screen size. Form contents are not sent to this service. IP addresses are temporarily processed for approximate location and recognition of repeated visits, without being stored in the database. The service does not use cookies on this site. How GoatCounter handles data.
The association separately records monthly totals of confirmed outcomes without identifying people or linking them to browsing history.
What we use it for
To reply to your adoption request, volunteer sign-up or sponsorship enquiry, and for post-adoption follow-up: the call or message we make weeks later to check how the animal is doing. That is all.
Where it is stored
Forms are received through the form service of Netlify, the company hosting this site, and forwarded to the association's email. Data lives in that dashboard, in our email and in our internal adoption records, accessible only to the team.
For how long
Requests that do not go ahead are deleted within 12 months at most. Records of completed adoptions are kept for the animal's lifetime, as part of our follow-up commitment.
Your rights
You can request access, correction or deletion of your data at any time. Just write to us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNPD, the Portuguese data protection authority.
